Design Technician / CAD Designer – Modular Builder

Full Time Permanent – 40 hpw

Salary: Negotiable based on experience

Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are looking to appoint a Design Technician / CAD Designer to undertake a key role within our thriving Technical Department. The main responsibility of the role is to generate and manage technical information required for projects and delivery of high standard design output information.

We seek a highly motivated, organised individual who thrives when working in a fast paced environment towards challenging deadlines, whilst being commercially astute and able to recognise and interpret project scopes to providing the most commercially viable compliant design solutions. A knowledge of modular construction would be an advantage, though is not essential as training will be provided. A sound knowledge and ability in use of AutoCAD 2D software is essential and knowledge and experience in using AutoDesk Revit software is advantageous, though not essential, as training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities include:

Primarily office based with opportunities to visit sites as and when required, and participate in client meetings as required;

To advise the project team of any commercial impacts of design changes;

Provide technical support to estimating and sales depts as required;

Be able to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines without compromising the accuracy or quality of the design output;

Manage all technical aspects of your allocated live projects including, but not limited to:

  • design stage approval
  • managing and collating sub-contractors designs
  • managing regulatory bodies where required
  • produce necessary manufacturing / fabrication drawings and details
  • maintain and issue drawings registers
  • communicate and liaise with third party Structural Engineers and other design consultants
